[Dash jumped off the roof, tucking the journal under his shoulder and opening the door, leaning briefly in the doorframe.]

Lucy~ I'm hooooome! Damn straight we'll crush our foes. So you've got a list for me?

[Peeking out from where he was sitting, he quirked an eyebrow at Dash but doesn't say anything about it. He smiled and ushered Dash over to where he was sitting.]

Yes. Do you know how many people reside here in total? Or is too difficult to keep track of considering all the comings and goings?

[Dash walked over, flopping down on the couch and grinning. It was still really fucking weird to have Mirror... Back. Memoryless, but back. Alive. Talking. Writing up lists. It hurt while at the same time felt like a huge relief. Dash was not good at emotional crap, so he just kicked his feet up and thought about the question.]

I lost track of it in the fire, honestly. A lot of people died and not everyone came back--but roughly in the several thousands, at least.

[For Mirror, things were finally starting to get easier. He was able to relax around all the people he lived with, including Dash, who had left a rather stark first impression on him. He slid over the cluster of papers continuing questions and scribbles about things he'd learned about Edensphere so far. ]

[Dash paused, blinking in momentary confusion at the question.]

Natives. You mean, like weren't from the cocoons? No one, as far as I know.

Come to think of it... I've never heard of anyone having kids here.

[Mirror frowned. This wasn't the kind of answer he was expecting.]

No one? That doesn't seem right. Someone had to be here to build things, correct? To write the books in the library?

Speaking of, do you know the longest someone has been here before "disappearing"?

[Dash glanced at the door, automatic paranoia.] The only 'Library' around is one you shouldn't talk about casually, Mirror. There's a bookstore--or there was, but they get the books from the scavenger's yard or the wilderness. Some residents write, now and then, too.

To my knowledge...? A long time. Years and years and years. But the oldest person I really know is Cross I think. Or Bastet, Raise, Lezard, or myself.

I have yet to visit the library or attempt to anyway. What's within to make you so nervous, or rather is there someone, something, guarding it? What are you afraid of?

[Mirror watched him, a careful expression on his face. Had he opened a whole new can of worms from such a question?]

About how long have all of you been here?

You can't get there by normal means, and I think only a few people can get in. I think you used to be one of them, but I don't know for sure. Not many people know where it even is, so try not to mention it, or that you know about it, on the journals.

[Dash sighed and slumped further down on the couch, looking directly at Mirror.]

People die, Mirror. When they ask too many questions or when they know too much. They die, or sometimes just disappear, which is worse. When you die you at least come back most of the time. I'm not saying don't ask, but I am saying be careful.

I've been here since early September last year. Everyone I mentioned has been around longer--there's a few others that have been around longer too, the bookstore owner and Aurora I think, maybe a couple others.

[Mirror was silent for a long while, looking forlorn as he considered all of this. Was getting to the bottom of all of this worth his life? Maybe. He wasn't sure yet. He didn't comment further about the library however, deciding it let the topic rest for now now.]

Are they murdered by someone? Who is dangerous here?

[Dash rubbed his forehead, frowning.]

Lotta people are dangerous one way or another. Like me and Cross. But if you mean likely to hurt you without provocation...? Praise maybe. Lezard's one to keep an eye one too, he's just kinda creepy though.

Most people are pretty decent and all. It's not really citizens that'll get you, but the tree itself.

[Reaching out, Mirror placed a comforting hand on Dash's shoulder. He didn't really believe him in the sense that Cross and him were dangerous.]

What would make both you and Cross dangerous?

[Dash smirked wryly at Mirror. It was oddly comforting.]

I haven't got a good reign on my temper all the time and Cross has his own... [Personality thing.] Issues... But neither of us really lose control or anything. We're both good fighter, but we do know how not to involve bystanders.

[Dash snorted.] That was uncalled for, me punching you, yeah. But it's not quite the same.

When we're stressed. We know what the other person can take, it's easier to let loose that way.

Sure, I wouldn't mind really.

Mostly stuff to do with regaining memories, or the Exile, or asking too many questions about what makes up this place. The CPA too, can be a bad subject.

[He paused before answering, looking away.]

Yeah... I've died. Last month actually. Me and Cross both died in the fire. According to Cross he died once before that, too, before I got here.

Yes and no. It's nice to have you back, but it's kind of depressing to know how much you've forgotten. It's like, I don't want to influence you, but at the same time--you were pretty much my best friend.

[He shrugs and looks away.] This isn't the first time I've had to deal with this though, don't worry about it. You've been gone since some time in May.

[He puts his hand back on Dash's shoulder before shaking his head, giving the shoulder a little squeeze. He is sure, however, that he died here previously, but he can't imagine talking to Dash about it.]

I may have forgotten, Dash, but that does not mean that I am a different person. I am still the person who was your best friend, and the person whom of which you shared such good memories with. Just because I lack these memories now, it doesn't mean that you have to start from the beginning again.

If I made the decision once before that you were an important person to me, then I will make that decision again. I trust my own judgment. I'm still your best friend . . . Ah, well. That is if you would want to me to be or consider me as such still since I am like this. We could, however, still make new memories and if you would be willing to share the old memories from when I was "Sky", I would gladly listen to them.

Therefore, you needn't worry about influencing me.

[Dash blinks, and doesn't look at Mirror. He does pat the shoulder, frowning faintly at nothing as he listens to the other speak.]

I know that. You're still you. [He raised a hand to scratch the back of his head, thinking about how to reply.] I trust you, you know? It's just I know it might be hard the other way--I remember stuff you don't, you have no reason to trust me or hang out here except my word that we used to be friends, you know? I'd like to be friends again, or still, but it's not like I don't understand that it can't be instant. It takes time to build trust and, teamwork I guess.

I'd be happy to tell you about what we got up to before if you want--you had a few friends besides me and Cross. A few of them--like Cle and Drake and some of the others--aren't around any more, but a few still are. You could ask them too.

[Mirror is silent for a moment, smile falling from his face as he considers the best way to put his thoughts into words.]

But of course I do. You, along with Cross, freely opened your home back up to me, you've returned to me all of my prior belongings, you have tolerated all of my questions and suspicious, and most importantly. . . You're concerned over this. You have yet to give me a reason not to trust you.

However, I cannot say that I trust you unconditionally as I am sure I did before.

I just don't want you think you've lost your friend. [says this a little quieter.]

And, I'm well aware. I have been trying to ask them somewhat similar questions.
